a random and chaotic post! b/c that's what our life feels like lately!

and i mean that in the best way...since zane's been off of work (for just a week now), we've had more fun than we have in the last 2 summers combined. we've been on the go and in the sun and it's wonderful and exhausting!

some people have been asking...why go private? there's no dramatic story to go with our decision-probably a good thing! with the girls getting older, it's nice to know just who is checking in on our lives. i could see that there were a lot of "random" visitors that i couldn't place (some pretty local) and it just felt a little safer to limit access. so there you have it. welcome to our world :)

now onto the randomness:
*avery drew an "A" last week and you would have thought she solved world hunger. there was clapping. and screaming. and begging her to do it again. which she was all too happy to do :)

*nola can now walk backwards when she wants to, mostly to back up to a pillow or stair to sit on.

*avery's favorite phrases lately are: "not...yet..." (though she doesn't really know how to use it yet :)), "leave me alone!", "that makes mama/dada SO happy?!" (usually after she's been in time out and we let her free again), "hey, what are they talkin' to bout?", and one of my favorites "i dance so i can make nolya laugh?!" (said in the car when we put her cd on and she dances crazy for nola to laugh :))

*nola was a water baby from the first time we took her to the local "beach". it took avery a couple visits, but now she has no fear of going into the water, up to her chin and getting splashed around.

*nola has a new word: "na-na", when she lays her head down on the floor like she's going to sleep :)

*nola is pretty much completely switched over to milk! the only reason we're still using any formula is because we still had 1/2 a can left over. now we just have to get her to take her milk out of a sippy cup. just like avery, she thinks water comes out of the cup, milk comes out of the bottle.

*nola has been consistently waking up WAY too early. like 5am. so today, at 4:55 when i heard her start to talk/fuss, i turned off the monitor, rolled over and crossed my fingers. we finally heard her wake up for good at 7:30! we had cleaned our entire bedroom and played with avery by the time the little one was even awake!!

related? nah...
