On the move.

Madden, aka:
Boy, son, sonny, brisket, bubby, chunk-a-lunk, chunky-monkey, sweet pea, madman

8 months old!
Went from army crawling to real crawling last week, and has already moved on to pulling himself up to stand by the couch (usually with someone sitting there) or at the bottom of the stairs. He just wants to move move move all the time, and things that the girls were doing at this stage (clapping, wiggling to dance, signing, sitting and playing with toys?) don't interest him as much! He wants to go and explore and be in the thick of the action at all times. Tonight at dinner he was sitting in between the girls and was in hog heaven with watching them and shoveling cheerio's in his mouth.

He's still up randomly every night. There have been a couple nights in the last few weeks where he was only up once, but most of time he'll wake up around midnight and then again at 4. I definitely felt a difference in my mood and energy level the days after I got real sleep, so I'm hoping he starts putting a better routine together sometime soon. He's doing 2 naps more consistently now, and that seems to help a little bit with overnight sleep.

No teeth.

The girls grow more and more in love with him each week. They fight over their seats in the car most days because one side has a better view and they can play peek-a-boo more easily. It can get tiring to mediate these fights, but it's a great problem to have!

The girls:
They got their class assignments for next year -Nola has her best friend in her class and Avery has already written her teacher a letter and drawn her a picture. Still seems surreal that they'll be in 2nd and 1st grade.

Zane made them twin beds last week, and I've lived out my fantasy about laying in bed with them at night reading a few times. Tonight Nola read me a Barbie story and Avery read me an old H.A. Rey book that will be perfect for Madden in a few months.

We visited "Madden's School" a couple weeks ago, though we were only able to see the backyard play area since a toddler had gotten sick inside. A girl that I have known since elementary school runs her own in-home daycare, fully licensed. If all goes well, Madden will go there 2 1/2 days a week and it'll be an easy drop off/pick up close to the girls school.
