we're baaaack

we've returned from our trip down south...truly a relaxing and wonderful getaway :) we went to jazz fest on friday and saturday (with most of new orleans!) and saw ludacris, norah jones, van morrison, rebirth brass band and tons of local acts. the pig cooperated for much of the trip, only really interfering with the night life there...meaning, ally was in bed early and zane got to watch lots of espn and eat from restaurants of his choosing :) we're finally coming up on the end of the first trimester and it can't come soon enough!!

Laissez le bon temps rouler!

We made it to New Orleans!!!! We were welcomed with humid air, sunny skies and a city that continues to rebuild itself :) We're staying at a hotel that we stayed at a couple times in the past, but that hadn't yet reopened last year when we visited. It's so nice to see life again all around these parts, from the tourists to the flowers to the buildings. We love being back!

Zane came home the other day and refered to the "little one" as Piggy. I thought he had lost his mind, but then he reminded me that it's the year of the pig. He could have also said that because sometimes I eat like a little pig when I'm hungry so now it fits perfectly. So...Piggy (or Piglet) has had its first plane ride, first tour of the French Quarter, will soon be having its first beignet and on Friday go to its first Jazz Fest! We're hopeful that next year we'll take Piglet here for its second Jazz Fest :)

Noah-Easter

wow. so much for more snow. we ended up getting SOAKED with rain. zane and i drove around town this afternoon checking out all the local damage and took some pictures. we're sure glad we live on the top of a hill, so none of the damage affected us much other than some water in our basement. enjoy :)

April Nor'Easter

i can't believe this is the second post in April that's focused on SNOW! it's sunday night and i can hear the freezing rain/snow pelting against the bedroom windows. we've probably gotten about 5 inches of snow so far, and might get more overnight. it didn't stop us from some spring cleaning today, and daydreaming about where we're going to move different pieces of furniture for the baby's arrival in the fall :)

not much else is going on. some of my pants aren't fitting so well now, and while i feel like i'm huge, i haven't gained any weight yet. i'm hoping and praying that the "morning" sickness is going to slow down any day now, i've been feeling so crummy and can't wait to be up and around and having fun. it's gotta be soon....gotta be......

ps, we'll get some new pictures up soon of us, the snow, the dogs :)

Ultrasound tomorrow!

so...i went to the dr. this morning for some little pains that i was having. everthing turned out to be okay, and when i asked when i'd get to have an ultrasound, she told me that she would set one up for me. little did i know it would be so soon! so....tomorrow at 5, we should know how this pregnancy is going, and fingers are crossed that everything (and everyone) is happy and healthy.
