tonight nola went to bed super early because she has been less than great at taking 1 long nap/day. avery watched some tv with me in my bed while zane took a shower. somehow we started talking about the potty and i mentioned how happy i was for her learning this new skill. i asked her if she was happy that she's starting to learn how to listen to her body and she said "yes! i go potty right now?" i said sure and followed her into the bathroom. she took her diaper off, sat down and we started to chat like we usually do.
i have a headband on that has fabric that ties together in the back. the strings were hanging down and she asked what was in my head. i told her it was part of my headband and she asked if i was a princess. feeling like i was on cloud 9, i told her "sure i'm a princess, thank you! you're a princess too, you know."
her response- "no, you are a queen."
that might have just made my year.
(that and the fact that she went potty again yesterday and today.)
