wahhh? maybe. or maybe not?

so nola went to sleep around 11:30 this morning. fed avery lunch, read some stories and got her down around 12:30. 12:37, nola starts fussing. not really crying. definitely not screaming. but making her awake-ness known. i had just sat down and hung my head in defeat. she was quiet for a few minutes. i relaxed. nope, she started fussing again. i slunk further into my seat. this happened a few times. and then more minutes passed by and she was quiet.

i tiptoed to her room and cracked the door and she was asleep.

i'm happy-yay, she realized she was still tired and got herself back to sleep!

i'm sad. oh so sad-did she give up on being rescued? did she think "i guess i'm not worth anyone's time or effort. no one's coming to get me. i might as well go to sleep :(" i'm just about in tears thinking that this might be the case.

i know i'm being ridiculous. if she had been screaming (or even crying) i would have gone to get her. and she wouldn't have stopped if she was really going to get up for good. but part of me wants to rush into her room, scoop her up with a smile and say "see?! i'm here! i still care about you!"

these pesky hormones are still not out of my system it seems....it's going to be a long day ;)

**update** so, in total, she slept from 11:30-3:00 , with a brief wake up/"bark" around 2:30. she woke up happy as a clam, had a quick cat nap in the stroller when we went for a walk around 5:00 and then conked out at 6:45 for the night.
avery also slept from 12:30-4 something. i guess walking around kohls really wore her out ;)

Trust me, they will not give up on being "rescued". Nola probably wasn't fully awake and just let herself go back to sleep... ahhhh! B

Do not think this! :-) She would have kept crying if she needed you. Anya has started to wake and talk and then do a frustrated talk/whine.. but I force myself to wait. Sometimes I look at the clock and tell myself a specific time to wait. She usually falls back asleep on her own. It is our 'job' to help them become good sleepers.. you are doing it right momma.. good job!!!
